Help increase the numbers of doctors trained to perform kidney transplants in developing countries.

Ten per cent of the population is affected by chronic kidney disease (CKD) and millions of people with end stage renal disease die each year because they do not have access to dialysis or a kidney transplant.

Transplant Links Community (TLC) trains medical staff in developing countries to carry out lifesaving living-donor kidney transplants. This means that families, who’d otherwise watch their child or family member die or struggle on dialysis, can give one of their kidneys to save a life. What better gift could there be?

This is only possible thanks to TLC’s team of volunteer NHS surgeons, doctors and nurses providing hands on training. They also offer bespoke support to ensure partner countries, such as Jamaica and Ghana, can create sustainable national transplant services.

To fuel this vital work, TLC run a unique campaign which harnesses extraordinary talent to create original art pieces which make up a unique “Deck of Cards”. They attract big names – in 2022 Grayson Perry, Ralph Steadman and Michael Foreman contributed work and artists are being lined up now to produce the next Deck of Cards to be released in October 2024.

The original artworks are sold at auction and the printed Decks of Cards are also sold online.

TLC is an amazing charity with great contacts thanks to its patron Dame Floella Benjamin. They need help in spreading the word to really boost this campaign and to deliver a multi-channel communications effort to put the work of TLC centre stage.
